Before traveling by car, place your child in an appropriate and correctly installed car safety seat, and fasten the five-point harness.
When the child reaches the height and weight limits of the rear-facing car safety seat (which can be found on the label or in the manual), switch to a convertible car safety seat. A convertible car safety seat is suitable for rear-facing travel.
You can also use a convertible car safety seat for rear-facing travel from birth, as long as the seat fits the child's size. The safest position for a child in a car is the back seat. Never place a rear-facing car safety seat in the front seat of a car with an active airbag.
