Keep the baby away from hot objects

Avoiding hot activities when holding the baby: Do not smoke, drink hot beverages, or cook near the stove while holding the child. When you need to handle hot liquids or food, first place the child in a safe place such as a crib, indoor playground, or high chair.

Proper placement of containers with hot liquids or food: Do not place containers holding hot liquids or food on the edge of tables or low-height surfaces where the child can reach them, such as coffee tables.

Keep the child away from hot sources: Do not allow the child to crawl around near hot stoves, heaters, or fireplaces, especially when these appliances are in use.
