Preventing Falls for Babies 8-12 Months

Preventing Falls

Install a child safety gate at the top and bottom of stairs. It's best to have doors on all rooms to prevent the child from entering rooms, climbing on furniture and falling, or being injured by sharp furniture edges and corners.

Do not allow the child to climb onto narrow-based high chairs, as these chairs may tip over while the child is climbing, resulting in head or limb injuries.Do not use a walker; a stationary activity center is a better choice.
